Mr. & Mrs.

Weddings are my favorite type of shoot.  Mostly adults, mostly the couple, in fact.  They always stand where you tell them to.  The smile is always genuine.  The styling has been ironed out long before the session.  A dream come true.  


Marne` and Brian were no exception, and their family was AMAZING!  Marne`s mom, Cheryl helped me with her dress (the dress SHE made!) and held the bouquet when necessary.  We laughed and played throughout the entire time and her funny brother Andy was hired, fired, and re-hired to carry the dress from location to location at the Logan Temple.  Happily, she's the only sister so he can retire.


Her talented and tasteful sister-in-law, Tiffany decorated the reception to the nines in vintage everything.  


Other than a bit of wind at the temple early in our photo ops with family, the day was perfect.

It all seems so simple to the untested soul...

All you need is a venue,

A few pretty things.

A bride,

A groom,

Coupl'a rings.

And you've got yerself a wedding. 

Happily Ever After. 

I happen to know that it's much more work than that.  These two even decorated their own wedding cake the night before.  That's love!  Dedication from their families and friends.  That's what makes a wedding.

Continuous support with continued love.  That's what makes a happily every after.

To test her resolve, a Choctaw tradtition.  The bride runs for the mark (in this case, this flagpole).  The groom runs for the same mark with a later start.  If he touches it before she does the marriage is on.  If not, she can get out of it.

It's not easy, this getting married business.

Love and well wishes to send them off in their new life together.

I have NEVER experienced heat like that, and I lived in Panama for 3 years!  We sprinted through pictures until we were drenched in sweat and I knew that no amount of editing could clear up the shine that heat was producing!!!

I did extra duty for this wedding.  Photos AND flowers.

Chavis/Campbell Wedding

I had the honor of shooting the wedding of this beautiful and oh so talented family's wedding. Brittney is a member of Remembering Our Culture, (as is her sister and the sister of the groom) and she sang a love song to her new husband at their reception. She was preceded by several numbers by the R.O.C. group and followed by a mariachi band. It was a riot. Hope I get to do more weddings like this one!! Next time I'll wear flats!

Note to newlyweds: practice your on camera kiss. These guys had the lockdown on the perfect film kiss. I even told them so. I've seen some not-so-pretty kisses in my day, but it was a pleasure to ask him to plant one on her (as you can see).

It was my first shoot at the Salt Lake Temple. Props to Chris McClain, the videographer (actually the first videographer I've shot with). He was so kind to give me some insider spots for shots and very cool to hang out with inbetween shots. I hope to work with him again.
